Highland Springs Senior Living

This was by FAR the largest Senior Living Community I visited. In a word, overwhelmed is how I felt as I pulled into this senior living community! With 1600+ apartments it’s easy to understand why.

I went to a tour and lunch at this community. The food was fantastic and the apartments are nice and new. Lots of them have screened in porches and views but the place is just massive!!

This is one of the places I viewed that has an Entrance Fee of well over $200,000 based on the size of apartment you want. When I asked our volunteer ambassador why they have this, she asked me “well do any of the other communities have full time medical staff?” Well, some of them, actually most of them, do.

All I could figure out is that places like this one use your Entrance Fee to reinvest in building more of the same and they promise you a 90% refund when you leave. When you leave? Well they sell themselves as “your forever home” so I guess they mean when you pass or go to a different location?? In my humble opinion, I think my money would be better with my Certified Financial Planner. Just sayin’…
