Mayberry Gardens-Assisted Living and Memory Care Homes
This 80 bed facility is located on Teasley Lane just north of the neighborhood WalMart and Kroger.
I set out on this rainy day to do a little more research on living options when we are ready to downsize. I stopped in unannounced and met up with Nicole Sprague (a good buddy of Fairhaven’s rep, Robyn). She had been with this company for 14 years and says lots of the staff and residents have been there that long too. I consider this a very good sign!
Of the 4 facilities I visited, this and Sage Oak were the most like one another and seemed to have a similar formula on how they operate and what they charge.
There are 5 buildings here-all identical only with differing levels of care. Like Sage Oak, they keep the architecture the same so when a resident may need the next level of care, they can move rooms and not feel discombobulated.
Three of the three homes I went into, all smelled like great cooking. The atmosphere was cozy and warm with residents doing this and that.
Nicole showed me a room that was vacant and it was about the same size as the rooms at Fairhaven but with less “kitchen”. It only had a small fridge and no microwave. Even though the facility is under 20 years old, it looked in need of updating throughout.
