The Sage Oak does not have the interesting genesis nor the history that the Fairhaven has but that is not necessarily a bad thing!
I popped into the administrative building of this young community to a fresh, smiling face who asked me how he could help. I let him know I did not have an appointment but that I would love some information to share with my friends at Robson Ranch. He said the Sales Director, Christina was doing an employee orientation but that the CEO, Loe would be back from a late lunch soon and that he could chat with me.
It seems equally challenging, or suspicious, to me to speak with either a Sales Director or an owner as I believe they all have a lot on the line when trying to recruit new residents. Is what they are saying true or do they just need to fill homes and “make the numbers”?
Loe and I visited for about 30 minutes but did not go into any of the residences. He said he’d love to have my friends and I come back soon for lunch and we could see the homes in detail. (I do plan on doing this post-holidays so lookout for the invite RR friends).
what's the difference?
- These 2 facilities are a tiny fraction of those out there-this is just the beginning of my anyalysis. That being said, I am just comparing Fairhaven to Sage Oak so far:
- ratio of caregivers to residents seems better at Sage Oak
- ’boutique’ = more expensive
- Sage Oak takes residents after a catastrophic or life-changing diagnosis. Fairhaven will KEEP you when this happens but will not take you in originally if already diagnosed.
- Sage Oak has dedicated memory care while Fairhaven, again will KEEP you if your memory declines but will not take you in originally if already diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s
how much?
The Sage Oak starts at $6,975 and goes up from there for Luxury Assisted Living. Luxury Memory Care starts at $8,975 and goes up from there.
The care levels go from 1-4 like Fairhaven but with each level comes a price of $1000/mo.
